What is the Exceptional Owner Program?

Every once in a while an animal comes to us with medical issue
s
that would generally prevent it from being offered for adoption.
Every once in a while such an animal has such a kind spirit,
such a good heart, that we know it will make someone a great pet.
So we have created a program to offer such wonderful animals
for adoption to an Exceptional Owner-one who understands
that this animal has special needs but also special rewards.
An Exceptional Owner is willing to provide the necessary
medical care for these animals to have a good quality of life.
An Exceptional Owner understands that there are no guarantees
of the outcome for this animal, but that both pet and adopter
will be richer for
the experience.

Meet Chrissy-the sweetest kitten in the world needs an Exceptional Owner!                                                                                   Chrissy's right ear is badly damaged; half of it has
fallen off. Her pupils are not of normal shape-sometimes
they appear to be little hearts! And her right front leg is
                                        bent and useless.
Despite these challenges, Chrissy is happy and content. She seems to
be free of pain, and she loves to cuddle! She gets around pretty well with
her crippled leg, but her Exceptional Owner should be aware
that someday she might need to have it amputated.
